Rachana awards for 4 achievers PDF Print E-mail

Mangalore, March 26: Four achievers from different fields, namely, Francis D'Souza, Ivan Castelino, Dr Edward Nazareth and James Mendonca have been selected for the current year's Rachana awards.

Informing this to media here on Tuesday, Rachana-Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Marcel Monteiro said the awards would be presented in a function scheduled at Milagres Hall in the city on March 30 at 6.30 pm.

Francis D'Souza from Belthangady will be conferred 'Rachana Agriculturist of the Year' award; Ivan Castelino from Mumbai will be presented 'Rachana Entrepreneur of the Year' award; Dr Edward L Nazareth will be given 'Rachana Professional of the Year' award; and James Mendonca from Dubai will be conferred 'Rachana NRI Entrepreneur of the Year' award, he informed.

A panel consisting of 12 members have selected the awardees from among 31 applications in all.

Each award comprises of a citation, memento, garland and a shawl, he stated. Mangalore Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza will preside over the award ceremony. Lokayuktha Justice N Santhosh Hegde will be the chief guest, Mr Monteiro added.

The association secretary Ronnie Gomes, jury members Roy Castelino and Ivan D'Souza were present in the press meet.
