Mangalore, March 25: "Congress party is undergoing refurbish process to counter the opposition in the forth coming assembly polls and Rahul Gandhi will emerge as a new hope for the party as well as for the nation", said Union Labour and Employment Minister for State Oscar Fernandes. Addressing the party workers at Congress Bhavan here on Monday, he said that the party has already reached the bottom of unpopularity and as there is no more deep troughs in the way, it is the appropriate time for the party to bounce back to its earlier position.

Denying any differences within the party, Mr Fernandes said that the party will stand united in its fight as per the decisions taken by the high command. Informing about the common minimum programmes introduced by the Government, he said, "am admi bhima yojana" and "swastha bhima yojana" for migrants are the two beneficiary programmes catered to the needs of the public providing them the insurance against any mishaps.

"Am admi bhima yojana" will reach 30 crores people in five years and every year as many as 1.2 crore families (average 5 members in a family) will be benefited from this programme, he added. Mr Fernandes also clarified that the party’s stand on recent nuclear deal will be made known within two days.

Congress Leaders U R Sabhapathy, M A Gafoor, Diwaker Kunder, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, Bola Poojary, Prathapchandra Shetty, Veronika Kerneliyo and others were present.
