Rs. 1,433-crore credit outlay for Udupi District

Mangalore, March 26: Deputy Commissioner P. Hemalatha released the Udupi District Credit Plan 2008-09 here on Tuesday.

The plan projects an outlay of Rs. 1,433 crore, providing Rs. 404 crore to agriculture, Rs. 238 crore to small-scale industries, Rs. 410 crore to the priority sector and Rs. 381 crore to the non-priority sector.

DK has 38 centres for II PU exams

Mangalore, March 17: Around 15,200 students of the district will appear for II PU examinations to be held from March 17-29. In a release, deputy director of PU education R Basavarajappa said the exams would be held at 38 centres. Mangalore taluk has the highest number of students (13,506) writing the exams while Sullia has the lowest: 1,961 students. The number of students in other taluks: 3,722 in Puttur, 3,538 in Bantwal, and 2,473 in Belthangady.
